The Tower of Pisa- Architecture and Engineering
2nd- 6th grade

Description: Discover the most stable geometric shapes to build with and construct the 3D model of the Tower of Pisa. We will explore the geometry of a circle and various polygons, and discuss such basic concepts in architecture as symmetry, proportions, foundations, and stability.
Taught by: Julia Gorodetsky, B. Arch, M. Arch
Materials: Each child needs to have the following materials for the class: 1 bag of MINI marshmallows (not the regular kind, please); 1 box of toothpicks and 1 bag of pasta (long straight spaghetti).
